MLB Daily Picks FREE pick of the day is San Diego:
Fixture: Colorado @ San Diego
Time/Date: 10:05 PM ET, May 8, 2012
Pick: San Diego
Odds: +104 (2.04 in decimal odds) @ 5Dimes
This will be the second game of 3 game series played in San Diego. San Diego won 3-2 last night. That was Colorado’s 4th straight loss. Colorado is experiencing serious problems on the road this season. They are averaging 3.1 runs in their 10 road games and they’ve scored more than 4 runs in just one of those games. At home, Colorado is averaging 6.5 runs and has scored five or more 13 times.
Two of Colorado’s starting pitchers are injured, so Alex White will be starting for Colorado tonight. This will be his season debut for the Rockies. He was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs where he went 1-3, 2.92 ERA in 5 starts. White struggled in 7 MLB starts last season going 2-4, 8.42 ERA.
San Diego will send out veteran Jeff Suppan. He recorded a win in his only start of the season against Milwaukee 6 days ago, after pitching five scoreless innings. That was his first MLB start in 19 months. He has spent last season pitching in minors and he strained the triceps in his pitching arm in spring training this year. Now, he is taking a place of injured Cory Luebke. Suppan won 139 MLB games in his career and he is 7-2, 3.86 ERA in 11 career starts against Colorado.
San Diego is 6-2 in last 8 head-to-head against Colorado and I expect them to win tonight.
