MLB Daily Picks FREE pick of the day is San Francisco:

Fixture: Miami @ San Francisco
Time/Date: 10:15 PM ET, May 2, 2012
Pick: San Francisco
Odds: -120 (1.83 in decimal odds) @ Pinnacle

This will be the second game of 3 game series played in San Francisco. Miami Marlins won 2-1 last night and that was the second win in 10 games for Miami, which has scored two runs or fewer in seven of those contests. in 12 away games this season Miami is just 3-9.

Barry Zito will be starting for Miami tonight. He is 1-0, 1.67 ERA after 4 starts this season. Zito has allowed only 5 earned runs in 27 innings of work, while striking out 14. Hitters on the current Miami roster have struggled against Zito in the past, combining for just a .165 batting average and a .232 on-base percentage. Out of six of them with more than three at-bats against Zito, none are hitting above .300. in his last start against Miami in July 2012 Zito allowed 3 runs and 8 hits in 4-3 loss, but he has posted a 0.80 ERA in winning his previous 5 starts against them.

Miami will send out Carlos Zambrano who is 0-2, 3.24 ERA in 4 starts. In his last start 5 days ago against Arizona he has allowed 3 runs and season-high 10 hits in a 5-0 loss. He has a good record against San Francisco going 5-1, 2.62 ERA in 12 career starts. Despite he is still winless in 2012 Zambrano is not pitching bad, it’s just that he and all other Miami starters, are not getting much run support from their team mates. Miami is 29th in MLB in runs scored (75) and 27th in batting average (.227).

Miami’s third baseman Hanley Ramirez is batting .209 and their leadoff hitter Jose Reyes is batting .224.

San Francisco’s third baseman Pablo Sandoval homered in his second straight game yesterday, and has hit safely in all but one game this year, batting .323. Their catcher Buster Posey is hitting .333.

Miami is 0-6 in their last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter and i expect the to lose tonight.
